INSTRUCTOR Daisy Clennon
LEVEL Beginners and Beginner-Intermediate

ideal for a complete beginner or a beginner-intermediate (someone who has taken a few classes). You’ll learn about the characteristics of clay and the basics of wheel throwing to establish a good foundation and for those with a little more experience, advance your forms. An overview of studio policies and procedures is included.

Students receive:

  • Weekly instruction (3 hours per week)

  • A personal student shelf (18w × 18d × 12h)

  • One 25 lb. block of clay (*Students may purchase up to one additional 25 lb. block of Clay)

  • All kiln firing and glaze costs

  • Use of studio tools and equipment

  • Extra studio access during Student Practice Hours

Students are encouraged to bring:

  • Wheel Throwing Tool Kit (Purchase via Mill Pond HERE)

  • Apron (Purchase via Mill Pond HERE)

  • Towels (Purchase via Mill Pond HERE)

  • Notebook and pen/pencil

  • Bucket, bag, or tool holder for storage

Members receive:

  • 3 hours a week of support, critique, and advice

  • Does not include an additional student shelf

  • Does not include clay

  • All other studio member benefits

Instructor
Daisy Clennon attended Bennington College in Vermont and graduated in 2021 with a BA in Environmental Studies and Visual Art. She's been teaching at Handful Studios in Portland and previously was a ceramic technical assistant at Haystack and production potter at Wolf Ceramics in Seattle, WA. Payment Plan Policy

  • First Payment: A 50% deposit is required to register. Paying this deposit is a commitment to pay the full cost of the class.

  • Second Payment: The second 50% payment will be automatically charged at the beginning of week four (of the seven-week class): July 27. 

Studio Handbook & Policies
By registering for this class, students agree to all terms and conditions in Mill Pond’s Studio Handbook.

Cancellations / Make-Up Classes / Missed Classes

Mill Pond Cancellations
Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment will be canceled at least two days prior to the start of the session. Registrants will receive a full refund.

Registrant Cancellations

  • If a registrant cancels one week or more prior to the start of a session, a full refund will be given (less a processing fee).

  • If a registrant cancels less than one week prior to the start of a session, a 50% refund will be given.

  • If a registrant cancels for any reason once a session has started, no refunds/credits are available.

Make-Up Classes
If any classes must be cancelled during a session due to weather, instructor illness, or other unforeseen reasons, make-up classes will be added to the end of the session.

Missed Classes
If a registrant misses any classes during a session for personal reasons (including illness), no partial refunds/credits are available.
