All monthly members get 24/7 access (with free parking) and use of the common spaces, which include numerous large tables for hand-building, electric wheels, slab rollers, and other equipment, as well as unlimited kiln firings.
Membership includes:
Shelf Storage: A dedicated shelf that is 36-inches wide x 18-inches deep x 12-inches high (648 square-inches).
Equipment: Thirteen Shimpo VL Whisper pottery wheels, one Pacifica wheel, three slab rollers, a North Star extruder, community wheel bats, and other tools.
Studio Clays: Laguna #65 white stoneware and Laguna #80 red brown. Both are versatile for throwing or hand-building, and both are good beginner clays. All clay must be purchased directly from the studio. More at Shop. (*Use of outside clays must be approved by Mill Pond staff.)
Glazes: Members are welcome to use our house glazes, decorative slips, and joint slip. *Use of commercial glazes, such as Amaco or Mayco, must be approved by Mill Pond staff.
Firings: Bisque firings to Cone 04 and glaze firings to Cone 5-6. (*Members working at small-batch production levels will be moved to Production Maker status and required to pay for dedicated kiln loads.)
Kiln Rental Discounts: Members may rent kilns for dedicated firings. More at Kilns.
Class & Workshop Discounts: Members are eligible for discounts on multi-week sessions and one-time public workshops.
Members-Only Workshops: Mill Pond hosts an irregular series of low-priced members-only workshops that focus on topics relevant to members interested in improving their skillset, such as “Advanced Glazing Techniques.”

Become a Member: Mill Pond Ceramics is a community studio. To ensure that everyone works well both in the space and with each other, all potential members must demonstrate the ability to work independently by completing an in-person interview with studio management.
Studios
Mill Pond has eight dedicated studio spaces with half-wall perimeters that allow for limited privacy. Seven studios are approximately 8 feet x 7 feet, and one is approximately 9 feet x 7 feet. Studio tenants may fill their spaces with their own wheels, shelves, and tools. Studio tenants also have the same benefits as monthly members and may use the common areas, tools, and equipment. (*Studio spaces to do not have doors and are not able to be secured; Mill Pond is not responsible for tenants’ personal possessions.)
