Ceramics Hand-Building Instructor

Mill Pond Ceramics Studio is seeking a ceramics instructor to join our team.

Requirements:

• Must be proficient at hand-building techniques such as pinch, coil, and soft/hard slab methods.

• Must be proficient in demonstrating joining techniques and sculptural construction.

• Must be able to demonstrate various surface decoration techniques such as stamping, sgraffito, and carving.

• Must be knowledgeable about the properties of clay, glazing, and the firing process.

• Must have a portfolio of hand-built work to demonstrate personal style.

Skills:

• Excellent communicator

• Reasonably outgoing and kind

• Able to command the attention of a group of 8-10 people.

• Responsible, patient, and courteous

A session can be tailored to 4 weeks or 7 weeks. Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday nights are idea from 5:30-7:30pm or Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm.

Instructor compensation is: $40/hour

Our studio is located in Biddeford, Maine.
