Ceramics Hand-building Instructor

Seeking a ceramics instructor who is proficient at handbuilding using pinch, coil, and slab methods such as hump/slump molds. Should be proficient in demonstrating joining techniques and sculptural construction. Able to demonstrate various surface decoration techniques such as stamping, sgraffito, and carving. Should be knowledgeable about the properties of clay and the firing process.

Skills also required:

• Excellent communicator

• Comfortable around all types of people

• A portfolio of hand-built work to demonstrate personal style 

• Responsible, patient, and courteous

Session is running for seven weeks, Wednesday evenings from May 14–June 25, from 5:30pm-7:30pm. We will entertain other dates/times if a qualified and talented instructor’s schedule does not allow this specific time.

Instructor compensation is: $40/hour

Our studio is located in Biddeford, Maine.
