Guest Policy
Mill Pond Ceramics Studio allows members and studio tenants to host guests to work in the studio on a limited basis. Students taking multi-week classes may not host working guests in the studio but are welcome to bring visitors such as friends and family for brief studio tours.
Guest Guidelines
Guests are only allowed with express permission from studio management.
Guests must be accompanied at all times by the member hosting them.
The member-host is responsible and liable for their guest to the same terms in the member’s membership agreement.
Guests are not allowed when classes are in session.
Guest Services
Only studio-approved clay may be used and must be provided by the member.
Reclaim clay may not be used by guests.
Studio underglazes are not to be used by guests.
Studio glazes are not to be used by guests.
Only the member’s pre-approved underglazes and glazes may be used.
Work must be signed by the guest, not the member.
Guest work-in-process (i.e. wet work) must be contained on the member’s shelf.
Members may not bisque fire, glaze, or glaze fire a guest’s work.
Guest work to be fired must be marked on a ware board and given to management with a completed Kiln Rental Agreement - Nonmember form; it must not be placed on the bisque or glaze racks without notification.
Guest work will be charged at our nonmember firing rates found on our Kiln Rental Agreement - Nonmember.
Guest Pricing & Payment
The guest rate is $20/hr. with a one-hour minimum.
Once studio management gives permission to host a guest, a digital invoice will be sent.
Payment must be made prior to guest’s visit.
Guest use of studio glazes is billed separately.
Guest firing is billed separately.
Payment must be made in advance prior to firing and/or glazing.
If a member fails to follow any of the terms above, their membership may be terminated.
