LEVEL Beginner to Beginner-Intermediate
During this 7-week class, you will learn the foundations of hand-building with clay or improve your foundational skills if you have some experience or have taken multiple classes. Students will have access for out-of-class hours to work on projects between classes.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR Grace Mendenhall (she/her) recently relocated from Austin, TX, is a multi-disciplinary artist with an extensive background in teaching ceramics. After a residency at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts, she fell in love with Maine and has recently relocated to Portland.
Grace’s teaching experience includes beginner and intermediate wheel-throwing and hand-building at Feats of Clay Pottery, Eye of the Dog Art Center, East Side Pot Shop, ArtShack Brooklyn, and as a production potter at J. Prichard Design and studio assistant for professional ceramicists. She is also experienced with alternative firing methods like soda, pit and barrel, rake, and wood-firing as well as kiln building and processing wild clay.
